Owners share knowledge of electric vehicles

Learn more about EVs at Cleveland event promoting battery-powered mobility.

The Electric Vehicle Experience offers the opportunity for those curious about battery-powered vehicles to learn more by talking to owners.

The event will be held at Cleveland Showgrounds, on Brisbane’s bayside, from 10am-2pm on 26 September and is run by the Queensland branches of the Australian Electric Vehicle Association and the Tesla Owners Club of Australia.

Organiser Jon Day said attendees could learn what it was like to own and drive an EV.

“Our clubs exist to promote the uptake of electric vehicles and we believe putting our cars on display, offering test rides and being available to speak to EV owners is a fantastic way to engage with the community looking for information without the dealership sales pitch,” Mr Day said.

“This unique EV event will showcase a wide variety of makes and models with a prominent show 'n’ shine display that features production cars and cars that have been converted from petrol to electric.”

The event will include EV-related stalls featuring accessories, charging equipment, electric-powered boat motors, electric bicycles, scooters, motorbikes and more.

“For the adventurous types, there will be a large test ride area for the e-mobility products, which is always popular,” Mr Day said.
