Queensland's top selling cars

Did your car make the list?

Sales figures for the leading car manufacturers across the state show Queenslanders love a good ute.

Utes make up three of the top five cars sold, with the Toyota Hilux coming in at number one, followed by the Ford Ranger at three and Mitsubishi Triton at four.

The Isuzu D-Max also featured in the top 10 coming in at eight, with the Nissan Navara narrowly missing out.

Rounding out the top 10 sellers in Queensland were several hatches and SUV’s with the Toyota Corolla, Hyundai i30, Mazda 3, Mazda CX-5, Toyota Prado and Mitsubishi ASX all featured.

The days of sedans dominating the sales chart with the Holden Commodore and Ford Falcon have long passed, with both manufactures ceasing Australian production.

Across Australia, passenger car sales have slumped by 24%, while SUV sales have remained strong with a 43% market share in October.

Total vehicle sales in Australia are currently at 971,723 in 2018, which is a 1.3 per cent dip from the same period in 2017.
