International Women's Day Fun Run

It’s time to get your sweat on for women’s health.

The annual RACQ International Women’s Day Fun Run will bring together more than 13,500 people for a worthy cause.

Sponsored by RACQ, the event aims to raise $750,000 for practical support services and breast cancer research.

This year, there will be two new course options on the day – run, jog or walk either 6km or 10km. Both routes pass RACQ House on Edward Street, cross the iconic Story Bridge and pass through the scenic Kangaroo Point cliffs.

Sign up and create a fundraising page, then simply rock up on the day and sweat it out for a great cause.

Money raised will go toward Mater Chicks in Pink, which funds potentially life-saving breast cancer research and provides dedicated support to thousands of people affected by breast cancer. This support includes counselling services, financial support and art and yoga therapy programs.

Last year, 251 RACQ employees took part in the event and more than 7000 members ran for the cause, raising $379,000.

RACQ spokesperson Lucinda Ross said the event was a highlight on the RACQ calendar.

“The RACQ International Women’s Day Fun Run is one of the biggest and most important fundraising events of the year,” Ms Ross said.

“We’re proud to support a cause which raises money for people living with breast cancer.”

The event will be held on 8 March from 6.30am, starting from the Brisbane Botanic Gardens.

Participants can dedicate their run to someone special at the RACQ Tribute Wall at the Finishers Village, where there will also be a photo booth and name plate printing. On 19 February, RACQ will match money raised dollar-for-dollar up to $10,000.
