RACQ response teams in Moreton Bay and Ipswich regions
Flood-affected RACQ members can talk face-to-face with claims teams in Redcliffe and Goodna from today, as the Club continues to respond to the recent severe weather event in Queensland.
General Manager Claims Trent Sayers said as at 8am on 10 March, RACQ had received more than 11,500 claims including 9,305 for homes and 2,220 for vehicles.
“Moreton Bay and northern Brisbane suburbs were hardest hit, with almost 4,000 property and motor vehicle claims received in those communities alone, while 1,692 claims have been lodged by members across Ipswich, Logan and Beaudesert,” Mr Sayers said.
“We expect claims will continue to flow through as people assess the damage and we want to be there for our members to support them through this difficult time.
“Our Mobile Member Centre is open at the Redcliffe Showgrounds via Scarborough Road from 8:30am to 5pm daily, including the weekend, with staff on hand to discuss the claims process and assist with enquiries.
“We have also deployed a second RACQ mobile centre to the State Recovery Centre at 112 Brisbane Terrace in Goodna, which has claims staff available from 8:30am to 5pm.”
Mr Sayers said teams continued to work tirelessly to support flood-ravaged communities.
“We’re continuing to provide safety checks, emergency payments, temporary accommodation, insurance advice and tailored disaster relief packages to bank members
“If you are yet to lodge your claim, you can visit our pop-up mobile centres in Redcliffe and Goodna or speak with claims specialists at the Ipswich, Gympie and Beenleigh RACQ Stores.
Members can also continue to lodge their claims online or call us on 13 72 02.
Mr Sayers wanted to remind residents RACQ Foundation had this week launched a special funding round as part of its Community Grants Program.
“Grants of up to $100,000 are available to support local groups such as sporting clubs, historical and show societies, men’s sheds and charities impacted by the storms and flooding in south east Queensland,” he said.
“We want to help organisations get up and running again, so they can help their local communities return to normal.”
