Savannah in the Round boasts Brad Paisley as star attraction.
US country music star Brad Paisley will headline this year’s Savannah in the Round music festival in far north Queensland.
Over the past 20 years, Paisley (below) has established himself as one of the genre’s most talented and decorated male artists with numerous awards, including three Grammys, two American Music Awards, 14 Country Music Association Awards and 15 Academy of Country Music Awards.
Joining Paisley in Mareeba for the festival, from 30 September to 2 October, will be home-grown country boy Adam Brand, pop star Vanessa Amorosi, iconic folksters The Waifs, Aussie rock idol Shannon Noll and rock legend Tex Perkins performing his critically acclaimed show The Man in Black.
Further broadening the event’s scope is Yolngu Surf-Rock outfit King Stingray, rising folk rock duo Pierce Brothers, classic Aussie rockers like Richard Clapton, Ross Wilson, The Black Sorrows and more, alongside all the country hitmakers McAlister Kemp, Rachael Fahim, Darlinghurst, Southbound, James Johnston, Kirsty Lee Akers, The Buckleys and Blake O’Connor.
Last year the inaugural festival at the Mareeba rodeo arena attracted more than 11,000 fans to three days of music, an Indigenous cultural program, visual art displays, local produce and goods, and paddock to plate dining.
A range of accommodation options are available, from drive-in campsites, a pre-constructed tent village, on-site glamping and luxury hotel options and transfers through accommodation partners in Cairns and Port Douglas.
Whether travelling on a budget or looking for five-star accommodation, Savannah in the Round visitors are encouraged to extend their stay and take in the world-famous natural wonders and attractions of the Cairns and Great Barrier Reef region.
These include the Daintree Rainforest, pristine beaches, stunning waterfalls, diverse wildlife and the reef.
Mareeba is about and hour’s drive from Cairns and 75 minutes from Port Douglas.
