The Road Ahead is changing from bi-monthly publication, or six editions per year, to quarterly, or four editions every 12 months.

Managing Editor Deb Eccleston said there were several reasons for the move to a seasonal publication schedule, starting with the June/July/August edition.

“Increasing production costs and paper shortages have sparked a review of our publishing practices,” Ms Eccleston said.

“We have also listened to our members who have made it very clear that sustainability and protecting the environment are very important

“To that end, reducing the publishing frequency will also positively impact the environment, from using less paper to lowering emissions generated by the production and delivery processes.

“Members will be able to keep reading their favourite sections in The Road Ahead every three months, with all the same great content we know readers love, either through the printed magazine or the digital edition.”

The digital edition is an online replica of the printed product but with additional user-friendly features such as video, text-to-speech and search functions.

Subscribers to the digital edition can also access back issues of the magazine to February/March 2019.

“We are excited about further improving the digital edition with more competitions and special bonus content which will not be available in the printed edition,” Ms Eccleston said.

“Members can easily switch to the digital edition by logging in to My RACQ and changing their preference.”

Once subscribed to the digital Road Ahead, members will receive a newsletter, delivered via email, which will link to the magazine.

“We are excited for what the future holds for The Road Ahead and look forward to our loyal readers continuing on that journey with us,” Ms Eccleston said.
