Audi TT Roadster 1.8 TFSi (2012)

by Barry Green,reviewed December 2012

Audi’s entry-level TT Coupe and Roadster now come licensed to thrill with seven-speed S tronic transmission, after previously being available with six-speed manual only.

Our 1.8-litre TFSI test car demonstrated the benefits, delivering snappy up and downshifts that enabled the maker’s peppy 0-100 km/h time of 7.2 seconds to be matched. However, we failed to get near the claimed combined fuel cycle of 6.4 litres/100 km, with a 400+ km highway and city run producing 8.8 litres/100 km.

The rest of the drive experience was all good, never more so than with top down on a balmy evening.
