Mazda2 Neo (2012)

by Barry Green,reviewed February 2012

The Mazda2 has long been one of the more enjoyable light cars to drive, thanks to zippy performance from its 76 kW, 136 Nm petrol engine and nimble handling, along with good levels of comfort and space.
This continues with the current model. A six-speed auto, instead of the existing four-speed optional unit, would serve Neo better. Neo is not as well equipped as some other base models in its class.

For a start, there’s no bluetooth phone or audio streaming, steering wheel reach adjustment and only a temporary spare wheel. But what it now has (since October 2011) are dual side and curtain airbags, cruise control and steering wheel-mounted audio controls as standard.
