Peugeot 4007 SV (2010)
by Barry Green,reviewed August 2010
The badge might be different, but Peugeot’s new SUV offering fails to stand out in a tough segment.
Sharing Mitsubishi’s Outlander body and four wheel drive system, the Frenchie comes with seven seats and a new 2.2-litre turbo-diesel.
Performance is solid, rather than outstanding, from the 115 kW/380 Nm four which exhibits a little turbo lag, though drive dynamics are sharp and responsive for a big (1800 kg) unit. The ride is firm, but could be more agreeable if the front seats were better compliant and offered improved lateral support. No steering reach adjustment is a minus. Third row seating is cramped, but the safety and standard equipment lists tick most boxes.
Against
No steering reach adjustment
