Peugeot 5008 Active (2013)

Versatile and well equipped succinctly sum up Peugeot’s 5008, a seven seater with multiple passenger and load carrying configurations.
Cargo capacity ranges from 758 litres with all seats in place, up to a mammoth 2506 litres when the second and third row seats are folded away.
Storage solutions abound, and include ‘hidey holes’ under the steering wheel and in the rear passenger floor, while a ventilated centre console offers 10.5 litres of cooled space. Occupants are further catered for by way of amenity and comfort.
There’s air conditioning able to be accessed and adjusted from all five rear seats via vents in the side pillars.
Third row passengers have an unobstructed forward view, while those in the second row score a multimedia system located in the rear of the front head rests. The system, which uses wireless bluetooth headsets, allows connection of external portable systems such as iPods, video, game consoles and DVD players.
The 1.6-litre turbo-petrol engine, available with six-speed auto only, has enough zip (power) and pull (torque) at least partly laden, and dynamically the 5008 would meet segment expectations.
There are front and rear park assist and an innovative system which measures available parking space and indicates the level of difficulty involved.
The standard equipment list (which even extends to a rechargeable torch) is as impressive as it is long.
