Volvo V60 T6 R-Design Wagon (2012)
The V60 range offers a choice of engines – there’s a 1.6 and 2.0-litre turbo-petrol plus a 2.0-litre turbo-diesel.
T6 models, including the premium R Design version we tested, are graced by a 3.0-litre turbo-petrol six.
It’s a strong eager performer, dispatching the 400 m sprint in a far from shabby 14.5 seconds. Volvo’s luxury all-wheel-drive wagon handles, steers and brakes in a reassuringly capable manner.
The large cargo area boosts V60’s practical appeal. There’s plentiful standard equipment and advanced safety features including blind spot information, pedestrian detection and auto-brake systems.
We like the integrated rear child booster seats, but not so the inflator kit supplied instead of a proper spare wheel.
