2012 Report

This report analyses the prices for off-street capital city parking across Australia. In the Brisbane Central Business District (CBD), weekday motorists are paying an average of $28 for one hour of off-street city parking, $42 for two hours and $66 for eight hours. These prices reflect an increase of 28.7 percent over the past year, compared to increases of 7 percent and 3.5 percent in Sydney and Melbourne respectively.

Queensland Fuel Subsidy Scheme Fact Sheet
The RACQ explains the value of the Queensland Fuel Subsidy Scheme (QFSS) to motorists and why the Queensland Government should not be abolishing it. The QFSS reduces the price of fuel by 9.2 cents a litre. People living in regional areas and outer metropolitan suburbs, who do not get much benefit from public transport subsidies, will be the ones to suffer most.

Motor Vehicle Registration fees in Queensland
This RACQ Fact Sheet has analysed the Queensland motor vehicle registration fees and compared them with the arrangements in all other states and territories following the recent Queensland Government commitment to freeze registration prices for three years. The Fact Sheet examines various vehicle registration fees and charges, including CTP insurance, and provides a comparison of 'on road costs' for a standard motor vehicle within the various capital cities. The comparison confirms that Queensland has the highest registration fees in Australia.

Services and Facilities for Motorists with Disabilities
RACQ members regularly comment on the steady decrease in the number of fuel service stations offering driveway services. This is a particular worry for members who have physical disabilities that limit their mobility thus preventing, or restricting, them from doing simple tasks on their vehicle such as refuelling, checking tyres, etc.

This statement defines the RACQ’s position on the provision of services and facilities for motorists with physical disabilities that limit their mobility.
