How long will it take for my claim to be settled and repairs to be completed?
RACQ is a signatory to the General Insurance Code of Practice. For claims relating to RACQ Home Insurance, we will begin temporary repairs on your property as soon as possible. A builder or assessor will then attend your home to assess and quantify the damage to then provide a ‘scope of works’ and quote to RACQ for the remediation of damage to your property. However, during this process there may be delays to allow for drying time, adhering to building regulations as well as the supply chain issues, including high demand for builders and materials.
For claims relating to RACQ Car Insurance, we will assess the damage and prepare a quote for repairs. You may need to pay any excess that applies to your policy. RACQ may then authorise the repairs through our quality repairers. In the case your vehicle is deemed a total loss, we will pay you either the agreed value on your policy or the market value of your vehicle, less any outstanding premium owed on your policy.
