How Trade Assist works

Either fill in the enquiry form online or call 1800 622 956 Monday to Friday between 8.30am – 5.00pm.

A friendly member of our Service Provider's team* will contact you to assist and confirm your job request.

You will receive a booking confirmation via email of arrival date and timeframe, name of the tradesperson who will be attending and a cost estimate.

On the day of work, the tradesperson will endeavour to arrive at your property within the 2-hour window provided to you, and will discuss the job with you and ensure you’re happy to proceed by signing a scope of work. You will be able to make payment via credit card or EFT on the day. A copy of the invoice will be provided within 1 business day after the work is completed.

Please note that RACQ does not carry out any work and that all contracts for works are entered into directly between you and RACQ’s Service Provider. RACQ is not a QBCC licensed provider of building work and acts solely as a referrer to its trusted providers.

COVID-19 precautions on Trade Assist jobs

To ensure the safety of the tradies, yourself and your family, our service provider Aizer, has incorporated a COVID-19 (Coronavirus) plan which includes additional pre-job checks and hygiene practices. RACQ Trade Assist will have additional safety guidelines to safely engage with you while working in your home to protect you and your family.

To protect the health and wellbeing of you, the community and the tradies, you will be asked the following questions before a tradie attends a job.

If the tradies or customers answer YES to any of these questions, the tradies will not be attending the job.

  • Have you been diagnosed with Coronavirus? You must self-isolate for 14 days if you have been diagnosed with Coronavirus.
  • Have you been in close contact with a proven case of Coronavirus? You must isolate yourself for 14 days from the date of last contact with the confirmed case.
  • Are you (or anyone you live with) unwell at all? Do you have any symptoms including a fever and / or respiratory infection (shortness of breath, cough, sore throat), fatigue?
  • Have you (or anyone you live with) returned from any overseas destination or domestic interstate travel in the last 14 days? You must self-quarantine for 14 days from the date you arrived in Australia/home.

On arrival, the tradie will confirm your information about your activity in relation to Coronavirus.

  • Asking the same questions as the pre-job precautions
  • Asking you to move to another room while work is undertaken
  • Wiping down work surfaces with sanitizer

In the event where a payment is required, we will engage one of 2 methods:

  • Tradie will place their phone in a snap-lock bag then follow normal procedure for collecting payment. At the end of the work they will remove their phone from the snap-lock bag and dispose of it with all other contaminated material.

  • Tradie will call the Aizer office (RACQ Trade Assist service provider) and ask a staff member to call the customer and take payment.

Additional hygiene practices that will be undertaken while working on site will include;

  • Additional protective equipment will be worn - gloves and half-face respirators, and in high risk environments disposable hazmat suit will be worn
  • Avoid shaking hands
  • Practice social distancing by maintaining a distance of 1.5m outside and ensure that indoors they have a work space of approximate 4m2.
