A new way to buy and sell cars
Facebook has launched an automotive marketplace in Australia.
Facebook revolutionised the way we view social media, and now the tech giant has made its first venture into Australia’s automotive marketplace.
The service launched in Australia following success in the UK and US and enables car dealers and the public to buy and sell cars on the social media platform.
Accessed through the Marketplace tab on either the app or website, prospective buyers can search through thousands of used and new cars.
Buyers can filter down results by proximity, year, make, model, kilometres travelled and transmission.
If the buyer requires more information, contact with the seller is instantaneous through Facebook Messenger.
Dealerships across Australia also list their stock of cars and motorbikes available for purchase.
Facebook has teamed with car selling and trading platforms The Drive Network, Autotrader Australia, Carsales, I-Motor, Dealer Solutions, AdTorque Edge, EasyCars and more to populate the site.
The move into the automotive marketplace was long predicted after Facebook launched its eBay and Gumtree competitor Marketplace in 2016.
