Australian Body Art Festival

A festival of colourful and creative experiences.

Be amazed by incredible human canvases at this year’s Australian Body Art Festival, nestled in Apex Park in the stunning Noosa Hinterland from 6-7 April.

The award-winning event brings together approximately 60 artists from Australia and overseas to showcase their living artworks and compete in the categories of brush and sponge, airbrush, special effects and face painting.

Event manager Danielle Taylor said this year’s theme of “Other Worlds” is sure to inspire some incredible creations.

“Approximately 8000 people attended last year. This is a fantastic event that offers something unique and different,” Ms Taylor said.

“We have all types of artists that come. Some are professional body painting artists, some are sign writers and some are fine artists that have their traditional artworks hanging in galleries.

“This year we have an artist and model travelling all the way from Sri Lanka.

“Some of our judges and artists have worked on film and television sets for movies and commercials both here in Australia and overseas.”

The festival will also host a wearable art competition and a parade of creative fashions made from recycled treasures.

There are also workshops, interactive art, street performers, a selection of market stalls, delectable food and activities for the kids.
