Australian Festival of Chamber Music
Some of the world’s best musicians will soon descend on Townsville.
From Friday 26 July to Sunday 4 August, Townsville will be transformed into a music lover’s paradise.
Now in its 29th year, the Australian Festival of Chamber Music (AFCM) will be held over 10 days with highlights including 22 concerts, five free events and three special events including a concert on Orpheus Island and two on Magnetic Island.
The program also features six morning Concert Conversations, The Sunset and Evening Series concerts, Winterschool masterclasses and performances and the Cleveland Bay Concert.
Returning festival favourites include the Opening Night Concert, Governor’s Gala, Queens Garden Concert and Concert Conversations at The Ville, where audiences can get up close and personal with the musicians.
Music fans will be delighted by the sounds of 40 internationally renowned artists including Grammy nominated, super saxophonist Amy Dickson who was the first ever Australian to win the Mastercard Breakthrough Artist of the Year award.
RACQ Living is giving members the chance to win an AFCM Holiday Package for two adults valued at $924.
The prize includes three nights’ accommodations at the Park Regis Anchorage in a Standard Hotel Room, a double pass to the festival’s opening weekend which includes tickets to three of the most popular concerts and one complimentary AFCM program signed by Artistic Director Kathryn Stott.
