Blues on Broadbeach 2020

Check out the impressive line-up for one of Australia’s most popular free music festivals.

The wait is over.

The line-up for Blues on Broadbeach 2020 has just been announced and is set to attract huge numbers to the Gold Coast next year from 14-17 May.

The event is one of Australia’s most popular free music festivals and attracts more than 200,000 visitors to Broadbeach each year.

Blues on Broadbeach Festival Director Mark Duckworth said the line-up for 2020 boasts some of the best and most diverse blues artists from around the world.

“This festival has become part of Broadbeach’s cultural tapestry,” Mr Duckworth said.

“The musicians, festival fans and local community all have an ownership over how it’s weaved.

“It’s exciting to invite new acts from Australia and around the world to experience the incredible vibe of this event for the first time, whilst still sharing in the history with the artists who have helped us build it from the ground up.”

Returning to Australia and performing for the first time at Blues on Broadbeach is Australian legend Tommy Emmanuel who is known as the international master of the acoustic guitar.

The two-time Grammy nominee has a deep musical diversity that ranges from authentic country-blues to rock.

Latin-inspired musician Gaby Moreno, who won a Latin Grammy for ‘Best New Artist’, will also perform some blues, jazz and soul. Moreno has shared the stage with international stars like Bono, Andrea Bocelli and Tracy Chapman.

Joining these artists is ARIA award winner Karise Eden who rose to fame in 2012 when she won The Voice Australia. Eden has one of the best female blues voices in the country and has topped the Australian charts breaking the record (held by The Beatles) to have the most singles on the Australian ARIA chart in the top 10 at one time.

Also returning to Blues on Broadbeach is Australian folk, rock and blues singer Kim Churchill and award-winning quartet Bondi Cigars.

“The festival highlights the best parts of the sunshine state with 20 performance areas on the beachfront and throughout the streets of Broadbeach, amazing food at local bars and restaurants and activities for all ages throughout the festival precinct,” Mr Duckworth said.

“Blues on Broadbeach is the perfect way to escape the winter blues and enjoy a long weekend of great music on the Gold Coast.”
