Cowch Dessert Cocktail Bar

Queensland’s first innovative dessert cocktail bar, Cowch, raised the bar for the dessert industry when it opened in South Bank  in 2014.

Since then, the franchise has expanded to Pacific Fair on the Gold Coast and a new Cowch Dessert Cocktail Bar will open in Chermside this month.

To find out what’s on the menu, we spoke with Cowch founder and General Manger Arif Memis to find out why so many Queenslanders are drawn to the delicious desserts.

Q. Do you have a signature dessert?

There are a few, but I would say the Nutella Waffle Sandwich.

Q. How many different cocktails do you serve?

We currently have 18 cocktails on the list, but we can make pretty much make anything requested.

Q. Do you have a signature cocktail?

Definitely! The Cotton Candy is our signature cocktail, it tastes sweet and is ‘Instagrammable’.

Q. What’s the most popular item on the menu and why?

Churros. We bake our churros and don’t deep fry them, so they are nice and light.

Q. Do you cater for gluten free and vegan customers?

Yes, we have just brought out a vegan and gluten-free menu.

Q. Are your ingredients sourced locally?

They are sourced from around the world. We want to serve our customers the best possible product and, sometimes, that means bringing Belgian waffles from Belgium.

Q. Are there any savoury meals on the menu?

Yes, we have a breakfast menu as well which has savoury items on it along with cheese boards during the day.

Q. Can you hire areas of the venue for special occasions?

Yes, we cater for parties from birthdays to hens’ parties and baby showers. Groups can hire different spaces from booth seating area or the couches area etc.

Q. Have you won any awards?

We are constantly ranked in the top one to three for best desserts, hot chocolates and cocktails in Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
