RACQ has introduced extra security measures to provide members with peace of mind.
To improve the security of member data, RACQ will be encrypting some member emails containing sensitive information from May.
For some email communications, RACQ will start using multi-factor authentication to prove the recipient of an encrypted email communication is correct and ensure members’ personal data is protected.
Multi-factor authentication is a two-step process where a user must undertake a few additional steps before they can access the message.
Members who receive an encrypted email can generate a one-time passcode that will enable them to open it securely.
The security email sent to members will look different to standard RACQ emails because it is generated by Microsoft Office 365 and doesn’t contain any RACQ branding. Only members expecting an email from RACQ that contains sensitive information would receive it.
