National 4x4 Outdoors Show returns to Brisbane
Outdoors expo the best way to see the best new boating, camping and fishing gear in one place.
Queenslanders love the great outdoors and there’s no better place to catch up on all the latest gear for enjoying the Sunshine State’s many natural delights than the National 4x4 Outdoors Show, Fishing & Boating Expo.
Hailed by organisers as “Australia’s best outdoors lifestyle event”, the much-anticipated Expo was cancelled last year due to COVID-19.
However, it’s back in 2021, taking over the Brisbane Showgrounds from 19-21 March.
The timing means enthusiasts can stock up on all the latest gear ahead of the Easter break, with a range of products from the 4x4 aftermarket, to the latest in campers, caravans and camping accessories, to fishing and boating, tourism, and apparel.
Event Director Jon Perry said it would also feature live entertainment, informative presentations and interactive displays.
“Following a lot of hard work by all involved, we are thrilled that the National 4x4 Outdoors Show, Fishing & Boating Expo is back, with an emphasis on complying with the latest COVID-safe practices,” Mr Perry said.
“A part of this is that strict crowd caps are in place, meaning that it is important to get in early and pre-purchase your tickets online via the show’s website.”
The show’s opening hours have been extended on all three days to allow as many people as possible to attend.
“With the current emphasis on domestic tourism, it’s exciting that the industry will be able to meet once again and present the many great products, innovations and destinations that are available for everyone to enjoy locally,” Mr Perry said.
One of the show’s new features is The Rig Gallery: Show ‘N’ Shine, a competition where 4x4 enthusiasts can show off their 4WDs, including highly modified specials.
Categories include Rough & Tumble, Tough Tradie, Terrific Tourer, Highway Hero, Urban Stallion and Ace of Clubs, with entries being accepted via the 4x4 Show website.
Another fresh addition is a 4x4 Technical & Training Centre with expert advice on preparing for trips to specialist areas including Fraser Island, Cape York and the Simpson Desert.
Other attractions include the Action Arena, featuring stuntman Matt Mingay and his son Madzy Evel, and the Outback Stage with a program of presentations from some of the biggest names in off-roading, including Jase and Simon from All 4 Adventure, Pat Callinan (Mr 4x4), and Sam Eyles from Built Not Bought, among others.
The relocated Proving Ground will again allow visitors, including off-roading newbies, to experience a range of activities over a variety of simulated terrain and surface types, while learning best practices from seasoned professionals.
