RACQ and Hunter Travel Group join forces
New joint venture delivers more value for members.
RACQ has joined forces with Hunter Travel Group (HTG), one of Australia’s largest privately-owned and managed travel agency groups, to form a new joint venture.
The partnership, which comes into effect 1 July, brings together Australia’s two largest automotive club travel businesses, RACQ Travel and RACT Travel to create major player within the travel industry.
RACQ and HTG will each own 50 percent of the travel joint venture, to be called Members’ Travel Group, trading as RACQ Travel in Queensland and RACT Travel in Tasmania.
RACQ Assistance CEO Glenn Toms said the joint venture will mean a wider range of travel options for members.
“This is a great result for our members who will have access to a more comprehensive suite of products and bespoke tours,” Mr Toms said.
“HTG is the largest branded member of the Helloworld Travel Network, which allows better buying power, more competitive pricing and larger and more consistently available offers for our members.
“While there’ll be no visible in-store changes, customers will enjoy a better online experience and access to a 24/7 concierge call centre.”
RACQ Travel customers who have already booked holidays will not be affected by the joint venture, aside from a minor update to travel documents.
