Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show

You don’t have to be a millionaire to enjoy the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show (SCIBS) held at Sanctuary Cove’s Marine Village 23-26 May.

The four-day festival will have something for every boating enthusiast including 300 international and national marine exhibitors, live music, delicious food, bars, street entertainers and an interactive kids’ zone.

Soak up the prestige life at the marina with hundreds of luxury boats on display. Visitors can step aboard 100-foot superyachts, ocean passagemakers, sailing boats and catamarans to get a feel for the different models available in the industry.

SCIBS General Manager Johan Hasser said visitors will be drawn to $250 million worth of boats on show in the marina alone.

“SCIBS has come a long way since it was first held on the very same Marina in 1989,” Mr Hasser said.

“Back then, a total of 100 vessels were on display but that has now expanded to more than 450 boats, 300 exhibitors and 45,000 visitors across the four days.”

There will also be a diverse range of sporting exhibitors on display to show off their latest products including fishing and water sport equipment.

“Queenslanders are among the nation’s most passionate boating enthusiasts, with more boat registrations in the sunshine state than anywhere else in Australia,” Mr Hasser said.

“Between the climate, massive coastline and incredible inland waterways, the state offers countless opportunities for people to enjoy boating, fishing and water sports.

“That love affair is also reflected commercially, with Queensland the epicentre of the Australian leisure boat manufacturing industry.”

Check out the latest in outboard engines, marine technology, gear and gadgets. Television and fishing identity Paul Burt is the SCIBS ambassador and will excite visitors with his delicious seafood dishes and fishing tips on the Main Stage.

RACQ member can purchase their tickets online and receive two tickets for the price of one. Offer ends Wednesday 22 May 2019.
