Sometimes everyday life gets in the way of us taking the first step towards improving our health, or we hold off, waiting for the right moment to come along.
The free government-funded My health for life program gives you that starting point. My health for life is a practical, easy to follow program that helps you, with the support of a health professional, to set your own goals and make healthy change.
Program participants receive six sessions of coaching over six months with the choice of flexible, one-on-one telephone coaching or small group sessions in your area run by local health professionals.
More than 8,700 Queenslanders have enrolled in the program since its launch in 2017. The program has helped them to reduce their blood pressure, move more, lose weight, eat better or make healthier choices.
Jo, one of the program’s recent participants, describes it best.
“I loved the opportunity to reflect on my goals each fortnight and have someone to talk with. The program helped me to change my mindset – to put myself first. I move more, eat healthier and feel good.”
