Why should I join the RACQ Dining Rewards Program?

RACQ Dining Rewards offers RACQ Members who register with the Program fabulous new benefits.
You can dine out at 100's of participating restaurants or cafes and receive 10 to 20% cash back when you use your registered VISA card. It’s simple - no hoops to jump through, simply connect your VISA card to the Program, dine and save.

How do I join the RACQ Dining Rewards Program?

If you're not an RACQ Member you must first join RACQ as this program is exclusive to RACQ members.

If you are an RACQ member you can join Dining Rewards online or you can join at any RACQ branch.

I haven’t received a joining confirmation email?

Check your ‘Spam’ or ‘Junk Mail’ box on your email software (e.g. Outlook, Gmail etc.). Be sure to add diningrewards@racq.com.au to your email Program's 'safe sender' list.

Is there a cost to join?

No. RACQ Dining Rewards is completely free for RACQ Members.

What do I need to join RACQ Dining Rewards?

To join the RACQ Dining Rewards Program you must:

  • be a current RACQ Member
  • have a valid email address
  • hold an Australian-issued VISA debit or credit card in your name and
  • accept the Program's terms and conditions

What happens after I join?

You will receive a joining confirmation email from RACQ Dining Rewards containing your user name and password so that you can log into your RACQ Dining Rewards account, monitor the rewards you have earned and change your details.

What happens if I have more than one VISA card?

You can register up to five (5) VISA cards in the Program providing they are all in your name.

Why can’t I register any credit, debit or pre-paid cards other than VISA cards?

The technology underpinning the RACQ Dining Rewards Program is a proprietary technology operated by VISA in Australia. It is not possible at the current time to offer the RACQ Dining Rewards Program on any other card platforms, although RACQ will continue to monitor the opportunity for this on our Members’ behalf in the future.

Will all my VISA cards be recognised?

You must ensure that the VISA card that you use to pay for your meal is registered with the Program. If you use a VISA card which you have not registered, you will not receive cash back.

Why do I need to register a VISA card with the Program if the Program has no joining fees?

You need to register your VISA credit card as when you make a transaction at one of the restaurants or cafes participating in the Program, it needs to be ‘identified’ in order to enable the cash back to be calculated and paid back to you as a credit on your next VISA card statement.


Why hasn’t my cash back reward been paid?

Once your reward balance reaches a minimum of $10, your linked visa card will be credited with the accrued cash back amount on your next statement. Cash back rewards are credited back to VISA cards towards the end of the first week of each month for meals purchased the previous month. However, if a meal was purchased within 10 days from the end of the month (e.g. 27 August), the cash back reward may not be paid the following month, but two months later (e.g. the first week in October).

To check your rewards earned, login to your Dining Rewards account. Rewards take between 2 and 4 days to be recorded on your Dining Rewards online account. (Hint: your username is the email address you used to join the Program).

If the reward is not shown on your Dining Rewards account

There are a number of reasons why this may occur:

  • If you dined within the last 3 business days, wait another day and check your account. Rewards take between 2 and 4 business days to be recorded on your Dining Rewards account. (Hint: your username is the email address you used to join the Program). 
  • If the reward is still not showing in your Dining Rewards account after 4 business days, print out your bank (VISA) statement from your internet banking site or wait to receive your VISA card statement. If the statement shows the bill was paid using the ‘CR’ (Credit) button (i.e. a VISA transaction not an EFTPOS transaction), simply report a rewards issue with us stating where you dined, the date you dined and the exact amount paid. 
If your VISA statement shows the bill was not paid with a VISA card registered in the Program, or the ‘CR’ (Credit) Button was not pressed (i.e. you used the EFTPOS payment system), RACQ will not be able to pay your reward.

If the reward is shown on your Dining Rewards account

Rewards are credited back to VISA cards towards the end of the first week of each month for meals purchased the previous month. How do I know how much cash back I have earned?

On joining the Program, Members will be given a username and password (the username will be your email address.) These can be used to log in to your Dining Rewards account to see a statement of your rewards. Members will also be emailed a monthly statement of rewards earned.

How small are the Program rewards?

There is no minimum transaction value for which a reward will be paid – however the merchant may have a minimum acceptable card transaction value.

Can I add additional cards to the Program?

Yes. You can have up to five (5) cards in the Program as long as they are in your name. A new card can be added by going to your Dining Rewards account.

Do I have to ask for a reward or show my RACQ Membership card at a restaurant?

No. The Dining Rewards Program only requires you to pay with your registered VISA credit, debit or prepaid card using the ‘CR’ (Credit) button.

How big are the Program rewards?

The reward at any participating restaurant or café is 10 to 20% of the total bill paid. For example, if your lunch bill at a participating restaurant is $100, the minimum cash back reward you will receive will be $10. Rewards are only calculated based on the first $1,000 of any bill. How do I earn rewards?

Cash back rewards are earned by making a purchase from any of the RACQ Dining Rewards participating restaurants and cafes. A list of participating restaurants and cafes is available from our Restaurant Finder or on the RACQ mobile app.

Payment must be made using a VISA card registered in the Program and by pressing the ‘CR’ (Credit) button at the point of sale. If you hit either the ‘DR’ (Debit) or ‘SAV’ (Savings) button when paying, you will not earn rewards.

Rewards are automatically credited back to your next VISA card statement on a monthly basis provided you have accrued a minimum of $10 in cash back savings. Any amounts under $10 will be rolled-over to the next month.

What about Lost or expired VISA cards?

If a card number is changed (due to losing a card) or you receive a new card with a different expiry date, the replacement card needs to be registered via the ‘Edit Account Details’ section on your Dining Rewards account.

What happens if I am no longer a RACQ Member?

You must be a RACQ Member to belong to the RACQ Dining Rewards Program. If you are no longer a RACQ Member, your Dining Rewards membership will expire and you will no longer receive rewards.

If you are not an RACQ Member you will need to join RACQ.

What happens to my cash back reward if my card is lost and a new card (with a different number) is issued

You need to login to your RACQ Dining Rewards account. Then click on the ‘Edit Account Details’ button on the registration page. You will be able to delete the details of your old card and register your new VISA card. Any rewards earned while the ‘old’ card was valid will be credited back to the ‘replacement’ / ‘new’ card.

What if I want to cancel?

Members can leave the Program at any time. Simply login to your RACQ Dining Rewards account and select the ‘Cancellation’ option on the Member’s page.

What if the restaurant or café has its own special offers or loyalty program

The Dining Rewards Program is in addition to any offers the restaurant or café may make. As long as you pay the bill with your registered VISA card and press ‘CR’ (Credit) when paying your bill, you will earn cash back rewards.

What type of VISA card can I use?

You can register any VISA debit, credit or pre-paid card that has been issued in Australia.

When and how do I get my cash back reward?

Where can I earn rewards?

There are two ways to find where you can dine and be rewarded:

  1. Search for your favorite restaurant or cafe in the Program using the our Restaurant Finder where you can search by location, cuisine etc. 
  2. You can download the RACQ mobile app, click the ‘Members Save’ button and search the list of places to earn rewards.
