Am I eligible for a refund?
Roadside Assistance fees, and other fees paid to RACQ and its Contractors, are not refundable other than for consideration of a roadside assistance call reimbursement. No refunds will be given on an unexpired subscription.
Can I buy Roadside Assistance for a family member or friend?
Yes. With gifted Roadside Assistance you’ll know your loved one is safe if their vehicle breaks down with help only a phone call away. If you’d like to give your family member the peace of mind that comes with RACQ roadside assistance, contact us or visit an RACQ branch.
Can I receive Roadside Assistance if I break down Interstate?
Yes. Reciprocal benefits give you basic roadside assistance from the local club, depending on where you break down.
- Call 13 1111 from anywhere in Australia and you will be connected with the local motoring organisation
- If your RACQ Roadside Assistance is current, basic roadside assistance will be arranged for you
How do I obtain a reimbursement?
Where payment is made for roadside assistance in excess of or in lieu of any entitlement set out in your relevant product brochure and you feel extenuating circumstances exist, you may apply to RACQ for consideration of an ex-gratia payment. Your application should include all relevant details, accompanied by the original receipt covering payment, be signed by you and submitted within 90 days of the call for Service. How do I request Roadside Assistance?
Call 13 1111. Our call centre is open 24 hours a day 7 days a week. You can also use RACQ’s Roadside Assistance app. Download the app at racq.com/mobile.
How long is my Roadside Assistance valid for?
Roadside Assistance is valid for one year from the payment of the annual fee.
Is there a limit to the number of calls I can make for Roadside Assistance?
Where Roadside Assistance is requested more frequently than RACQ considers reasonable, members with Roadside Assistance may be requested to ensure that any nominated vehicles requiring assistance are placed in a sound mechanical and roadworthy condition. Until this has been done, any further requests for free service may be refused or service provided for a fee.

Is there a waiting period after I have purchased Roadside Assistance?
Standard Roadside cannot be accessed within the first 24 hours after purchasing without an additional fee. A 72 hour wait period applies to all applicable benefits of Plus Care, Ultra Care and RACQ Ultimate.
When can you call us for assistance?
Our Queensland based call centre is open 24 hours a day 7 days a week, so you won’t be stranded, when you need help we’ll be there.
When will I receive my renewal?
A renewal will be issued approximately 4 weeks prior to the expiry date of your Roadside Assistance.
