  1. Where might my entry appear?
    Your entry may appear on the RACQ website, in The Road Ahead magazine and RACQ Living.
  2. What isn’t included in the Ultimate Queensland Experience prize?
    Travel Insurance, airport and accommodation transfers, as well as transfers to and from the experiences are not included. If you live in Cairns, flights will not be included in the major prize.
  3. How do I vote?  
    Voting opens 28 July 2020. We will list out the voting instructions and rules on this page once entries close.
  4. Can only Queenslanders vote? 
    No, anyone can vote, however only Queensland residents 16 years and over are eligible to enter.
  5. What is going to stop cheating/bots?
    We have implemented technology that will prevent cheating via bots. Any signs of cheating and bots will result in immediate disqualification.
  6. How will the winner be judged? 
    The vote is a public vote. The entry with the most votes out of all eligible entries will win the first major prize. The following 10 submissions with the most votes will each win a minor prize.
  7. When will the winner be announced? 
    The winner will be announced Wednesday, 19 August 2020.
  8. What happens if there is a tie? 
    In the event of a tie for the major prize, another voting period will take place from 10:00am, 12 August 2020 until 5:00pm, 16 August 2020 between those entries with equal votes.
  9. If I win, how will I be notified? 
    If you submitted your entry via racq.com/mustdoqld you will be contacted by telephone using the number provided when you entered the competition. If you entered via Instagram, you will be sent a direct message from the RACQ Official Instagram account.
  10. If I win, how do I redeem my prize?
    A representative from RACQ will be in contact with the major prize winner to organise flights and car hire. A representative from our partner Experience Oz will assist with booking accommodation and experiences. The gift vouchers will be sent out to the runner-up winners from RACQ.
  11. If I win, how do I travel given the Government restrictions around COVID-19? 
    We may need to be flexible with the delivery of the major prize pending government restrictions around COVID-19. Some tour operators may not be open so an alternative will need to be sought. We will work with the winning entrant to manage the best possible outcome.

Terms and conditions

  1. This competition is a promotion run by RACQ Operations Pty Limited ABN 80 009 663 414 (“Promoter”).
  2. Entries and information on prizes and how to enter form part of these terms and conditions (“Terms”). Entries not completed in accordance with these Terms are ineligible. Participation in this competition constitutes acceptance of these Terms.

Eligible Entrants

  1. The competition is open to residents of Queensland aged 16 years and over at the time competition is drawn.
  2. Directors, officers, management, employees and other staff (and the immediate families of directors, officers, management, employees and other staff) of the Promoter, related entities and agents of the Promoter are ineligible to enter.
  3. The Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who the Promoter has reason to believe breached any of these conditions, or engaged in any unlawful or otherwise improper misconduct calculated to jeopardise the fair and proper conduct of the competition. The Promoter’s legal rights to recover damages or other compensation from such an offender are reserved.

Competition Details

  1. The competition commences at 10:00 am 3 June 2020 and closes at 5:00 pm 19 July 2020 (Promotion Period).
  2. Eligible entrants may enter this competition by sharing their ‘must do’ place, activity, or experience in Queensland to Instagram using #MustDoQldRACQ or racq.com/mustdoqld through the Stackla platform. The platform acts as an aggregator tool to pool through the submissions before they are published on the website. Entrants who upload their submission via. Racq.com/mustdoqld are required to enter all the relevant fields on the form. If the entrant is uploading their submission via. Instagram, their profile must be on public and have listed the location of their submission.
  3. Only three entries are permitted per person and only one prize will be awarded to the winner.
  4. All entries become the property of the Promoter. No responsibility is accepted for late, lost or misdirected entries.

Prizes and Prize Winner

  1. The competition will be drawn at 10:00am, 19 August 2020 by a member of the RACQ Marketing team.
  2. Times quoted are local times.
  3. An RACQ judging panel will shortlist submissions. Judge’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered in to. Judging criteria will be based on uniqueness of the location, activity, experience, quality of the photo and the description given.
  4. Once entries are closed, the public will be invited to vote between 28 July – 10 August 2020 on their favourite submission. The photo with the most votes will win the Ultimate Queensland Experience. We will also award 10 runner-up prizes. The public will be able to vote for their favourite entry by clicking the ‘vote’ button under the photo. Promoter’s decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
  5. The total prize pool value is $30,000 (inclusive of GST). Prize components, including without limitation model and colour, may alter at the discretion of the Promoter. Any change in the value of the prize between the publishing date and the date that the prize is claimed is not the responsibility of the Promoter.
  6. The major winner will receive an Ultimate Queensland Experience~ valued at a total of $15,000 which includes:

  7. The minor winners will receive an ExperienceOz voucher valued at $1,500 to be used on an ExperienceOz partner within Queensland.
  8. The winner will be notified by telephone using the telephone number provided by winner when they entered the competition. All winners will be announced on the competition website on 19 August 2020. The first major winner will also be announced via Facebook and Instagram. If the winner entered via Instagram using #MustDoQldRACQ, they will be contacted via their Instagram account. The prize will be posted to the winner to the address provided by the winner when they entered the competition online or when they are contacted by RACQ staff if they entered using the Instagram hashtag.
  9. In the event of a tie for the major prize, another voting period will take place from 10:00am 12 August 2020 until 5:00 pm 16 August 2020 between those entries with equal votes. The runner up of the re-vote will win one of the 10 minor prizes. In the event of a tie for the minor prize, an extra minor prize will be awarded.
  10. RACQ will make multiple attempts to contact the winner. If the major and minor winners are unable to be contacted within four weeks of 19 August 2020, no redraw will occur and the prize will be forfeited.
  11. The prize is not transferable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash.
  12. The Promoter will use its best endeavours to provide the prize as listed. If the prize (or any element of the prize) is unavailable, the Promoter, in its absolute discretion, reserves the right to substitute the prize (or that part of the prize) with a prize of equivalent value and/or specification, subject to any written directions from a regulatory authority.
  13. If the winner of the prize is under the age of 18 years (where entry by persons under 18 is not permitted), the Promoter may, at its discretion, award the prize to the winner’s parent or guardian.
  14. The prize winner acknowledges that the prize, or any component of the prize, may be subject to the standard terms and conditions of the individual prize supplier(s) and may be subject to additional terms and conditions imposed by third parties. The winner must become acquainted with any such additional terms and conditions prior to accepting the prize. The Promoter does not accept any responsibility and is not liable for any additional conditions imposed on the taking of the prize by third parties, or for the breach of those conditions by any person. The acceptance of the prize creates a relationship between the prize winner and the individual prize supplier(s) and the Promoter is not responsible for, and accepts no liability in relation to, any loss, damage or claim that may be incurred by the prize winner as a result of the prize winner’s decision to accept the prize.
  15. Should the winner change their nominated travel dates after booking, the winner shall be responsible for any additional costs or fees associated with the change of their nominated travel dates. All costs associated with the prize which are not specified to be included in the prize, including but not limited to any transfer costs, meals, taxes, insurance and other ancillary costs, are the responsibility of the winner and their companion/s. The winner and any travelling companion/s are responsible for ensuring that they have all necessary travel insurance and documents to travel to the relevant place (including a current passport and visas, if required). The Promoter is not responsible for any cancellation, delay or rescheduling of flights and any costs incurred as a result (including without limitation, accommodation costs) will be the sole responsibility of the winner.
  16. All components of the prize must be taken together or otherwise are deemed to be forfeited. Travel is subject to booking availability and blackout periods may apply.

Marketing

  1. The information that entrants provide will be used by the Promoter for the purpose of conducting the competition, and to periodically keep entrants informed about the goods and services provided by the Promoter, related entities and its service providers. By entering this competition entrants consent to the use of their contact details for the purposes described in this clause. The Promoter may use or disclose entrants’ personal information to related entities or other appropriate third parties in accordance with its privacy policy available on its Internet site at racq.com.
  2. In participating in the prize activity, the winner agrees to participate and cooperate as required in all editorial activities relating to this promotion, including but not limited to being interviewed, video-recorded and photographed. The winner agrees to grant the Promoter and its related entities a perpetual, non-exclusive licence to use such audio, footage and/or photographs in all media worldwide and the winner will not be entitled to any fee for such use. The winner agrees that they will not sell or otherwise provide their story, video and/or photographs to any media or other organisation.
  3. Entrants consent to the Promoter and its related entities using their name, likeness, image and/or voice in the event they are a prize winner (including photograph, film and/or recording of the same) in any media for an unlimited period without remuneration for the purpose of promoting the promotion (including any outcome), and promoting products manufactured, distributed and/or supplied by the Promoter or its related entities.

General

  1. If for any reason this competition is not capable of being conducted by the Promoter as intended, whether because of computer virus, mobile phone failure, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other cause beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter which in the Promoter’s opinion affects the administration of the competition, security, fairness or integrity, the Promoter may in its sole discretion, cancel, modify or suspend the competition, subject to the approval of the Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation in Queensland as may be required.
  2. Without limiting any other paragraph, the Promoter may at its discretion amend any aspect of this competition or these terms, subject to applicable laws and subject to the approval of the relevant regulatory authorities.
  3. The Promoter, its related entities, and the directors, officers, management, employees and other staff of the Promoter and its related entities (Promoter’s Agents) will not be liable for any loss or damage or for any personal injury sustained as a result of taking the prize(s) or entering into this competition. The Promoter and the Promoter’s Agents make no representations or warranties as to the quality, suitability or merchantability or any goods or services offered as prizes. To the extent permitted by law, the Promoter and the Promoter’s Agents are not liable for any loss suffered to person or property by reason of any act or omission, deliberate or negligent, by the Promoter or the Promoter’s Agents, in connection with the arrangement for the supply, or the supply, of goods and services by any person to the prize winner and, where applicable, to any persons accompanying the prize winners.
  4. If, notwithstanding the above, the Promoter or the Promoter’s Agents are found to be liable to any person in connection with this competition the Promoter’s and the Promoter’s Agents’ maximum aggregate liability is limited to $1.00.

  13. Each winner will receive a Puma Energy fuel voucher to the value of $100 (inclusive of GST). The total prize pool value is $500 (inclusive of GST). Prize components, including without limitation model and colour, may alter at the discretion of the Promoter. Any change in the value of the prize between the publishing date and the date that the prize is claimed is not the responsibility of the Promoter.
  14. The winner will be notified by telephone using the telephone number provided by winner when they entered the competition. The prize will be posted to the winner to the address provided by the winner when they are contacted by RACQ staff.
  15. If the winner is unable to be contacted within one week of the draw, a redraw will occur. In the event that a redraw is required, it will be held at 10am, Wednesday 26 August by a member of the RACQ Marketing team and the redraw winner will be notified by telephone using the telephone number provided by winner when they entered the competition.
  16. The prize is not transferable, exchangeable or redeemable for cash.
