Move your car away from trafficIf you can get your car moving, find a breakdown bay to park in or move your vehicle as far to the left side of the road as you can. -
Make sure you’re in a safe positionIf you’re staying in your car, keep your seatbelt on. If you’re outside the car, keep away from the road and always stay behind the roadside barrier. -
Turn on your lightsLet other motorists know that you’re experiencing a breakdown by turning on your hazard and parking lights. -
Don’t try to fix your vehicleHelp is on the way. Sit tight and wait for an RACQ patrol or tow truck to arrive. We know how to conduct fast, safe repairs.
