Why a 4WD camper holiday might be perfect for you
It’s a common question for camper road trippers: Should I hire a 2WD or a 4WD?
When deciding on the type of road trip you want to take, one factor to consider is if you want the option to go off-road and live your best adventurous life, or you’d prefer to stay on the path more travelled.
For first-timers, a 4WD camper holiday might seem intimidating, but never fear, with everything you need with you, a 4WD camper holiday is easier than you think.
Forget dirty 4WD cars, camping in swags on the rough terrain, and fighting against the elements – 4WD camping doesn’t have to be as hardcore as you think.
With creature comforts like a large double bed, sink, gas stove, fridge, and dining table, you’d be forgiven for thinking that the Apollo 4WD Adventure Camper isn’t really made for the outback.
Rest assured, with extra fuel capacity, off road tires, twin battery system and a 3.0L Diesel engine, the 4WD Adventure Camper is ready to take you off the beaten track and then some.
For those who are brave enough to take the off-road leap – there are a few things to consider before you set off:
- Check your route, then check again. Some roads might be closed, or travel updates might be in place so it’s always good to recheck your travel plans 24 hours before you head off.
- Restricted roads call for a call. While our 4WDs can go a lot of places, there are some restricted of prohibited areas, before you decide it’s important to check with Apollo team to make sure the roads your want to venture are ok by us.
- Be prepared. The ApolloConnect App offers how-to videos on the 4WD camper so you can check it out in advance before you even get to the branch.
