Hyundai Australia has announced the arrival of its latest electric vehicle, the Elexio, set to launch locally in the first quarter of this year.

Positioned between the Kona Electric and IONIQ 5, the futuristic Elexio expands Hyundai’s growing EV portfolio with a medium SUV that Hyundai says blends smart technology, practicality, and style.

Performance and charging

Launching as a single-trim Elite variant priced at $59,990 drive-away, the Elexio targets families seeking an electric alternative.

Under the sleek exterior, the SUV features a 160kW, 310Nm front-wheel-drive motor, paired with an 88kWh battery delivering 546km WLTP range.

Built on Hyundai’s 400V E-GMP platform, ELEXIO supports rapid charging, reaching 10-80% in just 38 minutes.

Interior comfort and technology

Inside, the Elexio offers a spacious, minimalist cabin with premium touches, including leather-appointed seats in Obsidian Black or Dove Grey, heated and ventilated front seats, and dual wireless phone chargers.

Families will appreciate the generous 506-litre cargo space, expandable to 1,540 litres with rear seats folded.

Technology takes centre stage with the debut of Hyundai’s Connect-C infotainment system, based on Android Automotive OS.

A 27-inch 4K panoramic display provides intuitive control, complemented by a head-up display for key driving information.

Connectivity features include OTA updates, Bluelink Connected Car Services, and Digital Key 2 smartphone access.

Design and local tuning

The Elexio’s exterior design showcases a smooth, dynamic silhouette with layered horizontal styling for a bold SUV presence.

To ensure optimal performance on Australian roads, the Elexio underwent an extensive local chassis tuning program, with engineers tailoring suspension and steering for comfort and handling across diverse conditions.
