Country stars shine at Savannah in the Round

The four-day Savannah in the Round music and camping festival delivers more country music than you could ever squeeze into one weekend, along with plenty of cold drinks, campfires and genuine country hospitality.
Held from 8-11 October this year, the festival will feature more than 60 artists performing across multiple stages within the precinct.
By day, the Big Top Music Hall, The Bendigo Bank Backyard Stage and Bull Bar showcase local, emerging and established artists. As the sun goes down, the Cape Stage takes over, hosting some of Australia and America’s biggest country acts under the stars.
Leading the charge in the first artist announcement is Australian country royalty Lee Kernaghan, returning to the Savannah stage after two years.

He will be joined by crowd favourites Troy Cassar-Daley, Ian Moss and Busby Marou, while Savannah’s reputation for mixing things up is reinforced with the inclusion of iconic Australian ’80s pop group Mental As Anything, bringing a hit-packed set that spans generations.
Fresh off their wins at the Country Music Awards of Australia, Max Jackson, named Female Artist of the Year, and Wade Forster, Male Artist of the Year, add some of the strongest voices in modern country. They will be joined by Jarrad Wrigley, the reigning Toyota Star Maker winner and reality TV star, with more artists still to be announced.
Set at Mareeba Rodeo Arena, camping is a big part of the Savannah experience from swags and caravans to ready-made Rent-a-Tent villages and full-service glamping.
There is space for families, room for groups, and a pre-festival campers concert and the Great Northern Bull Riding Series on Thursday night to kick things.
Prefer not to camp? Stay in Mareeba, Cairns or Port Douglas and take advantage of daily shuttles or hire a car and enjoy one of Tropical North Queensland’s most scenic drives.
