The Bundaberg Region will shine a spotlight on the Great Barrier Reef, it's inhabitants, plus local arts and culture when the 2024 Milbi Festival kicks off in October.

The Milbi Festival showcases the Bundaberg region.
The 10-day celebration is the perfect time to plan a trip to the Eco-Certified Destination region, famous for its turtle populations, with a rich tapestry of activities and experiences on offer to celebrate the unique heritage and natural beauty of the area.

Local culture will also be showcased through a range of activities such as the Bundy Belle Taribelang River Cruise, a Weaving Garden, Gurang Ghurri Community Cricket Match and more.

Adventurers aren’t left out either, with activities including a Learn to Surf session and Yoga in the Park on the agenda – the perfect way to take in all of the natural beauty of Bundaberg.

Bundaberg Mayor Helen Blackburn expressed excitement for the upcoming festival.

“The Milbi Festival is a wonderful opportunity for us to come together and celebrate our vibrant culture and natural surroundings,” Cr Blackburn said.

“It’s a time to showcase what makes the Bundaberg Region so special and to create lasting memories for both residents and visitors.”

Events portfolio spokesperson Cr Steve Cooper highlighted the festival’s inclusive and diverse range of activities.

“From traditional arts to outdoor adventures, music showcases and educational workshops, there’s something for everyone at the 2024 Milbi Festival,” Cr Cooper said.

“We’re proud to offer a line-up that not only entertains but also educates, inspires and creates a connection to culture and our community.”

The festival program is available to view here.
