RACQ joins program to increase employment opportunities for people with disabilities
RACQ has joined five other companies to support a pilot program aimed at supporting employers create more job opportunities and inclusive workplaces.

The RecruitAble pilot is a partnership between Get Skilled Access, founded by Australian of the Year Dylan Alcott AO, and national recruitment agency Randstad Australia.
Mr Alcott said the pilot was a great step towards people with disability feeling confident about accessing job opportunities.
“It’s time for employers to take the lead in creating inclusive workplaces and recruitment process so people with disability have more choice and control over their careers,” he said.
RACQ Chief People Officer Heidi Suominen said it was a great opportunity to broaden the Club’s recruitment to people with a disability.
“One of our four pillars in our Diversity and Inclusion Strategy 2022 to 2024 is around accessibility – ensuring we are an organisation where people of all different abilities are able to thrive,” Ms Suominen said.
“The RecruitAble initiative really supports us on this journey.
“It’s designed by people with disability and includes innovative features to help make the focus of the recruitment process about a person’s skills, experience and qualifications, rather than their disability.
“It’s interesting to know that more than 2.1 million Australians are living with a disability and are of a working age. Many find the recruitment process difficult to access and often not very inclusive.
“With the support of Get Skilled Access we hope to change that. As part of the RecruitAble program, we’ll be reviewing our recruitment processes, examining the barriers to hire people with disability and ultimately hiring more people with disability with the support of Get Skilled Access.”
