RACQ announces Community Impact Strategy

For more than 120 years, RACQ has been there for Queenslanders when it matters most – earning trust through action, service and community support.
From advocating for the State’s first motorists, to transporting wounded soldiers during World War I and responding to the devastating 2011 Brisbane floods through the establishment of the RACQ Foundation, giving back has always been at the heart of Queensland’s largest Club.
That commitment continues today with RACQ advocating on the issues that matter most to its members and providing vital support to communities impacted by extreme weather and other challenges.
Building on this legacy, RACQ has implemented a new Community Impact Strategy which establishes a framework for future partnerships that will strengthen community resilience, improve road safety, and a more inclusive energy transition throughout Queensland.
RACQ Chief Executive Community MJ Bellotti said today’s launch event highlighted how collaboration can lead to impactful results.
“Today, we had the privilege of welcoming current and prospective partners for the official launch of RACQ’s new Community Impact Strategy,” Ms Bellotti said.
“Partnering with local organisations and community groups allows us to ensure our efforts are purposeful, effective and directly address the challenges our members face now and into the future.”
RACQ is backing this strategy by establishing a dedicated perpetual community fund of $100 million. In addition, RACQ is matching this with another $100 million. The returns from $200m combined with a significant donation each year from RACQ’s annual profits, will fund community work year-after-year – not as a one-off gesture, but as an enduring commitment.
Ms Bellotti said the strategy is guided by three pillars – building safer roads, providing fair access to cleaner energy and creating more resilient communities.
“Road trauma directly impacts hundreds of Queensland families every year, making road safety a top priority for RACQ,” she said.
“Our aim is long-term change that saves lives and protects future generations.
“As transport and energy solutions evolve, we aim to support Queenslanders with trusted advice to help them adapt with confidence.”
Ms Bellotti said RACQ members will have the opportunity to play a crucial role in delivering the strategy.
“We want our members to be part of this journey as we work towards a better future for all Queenslanders,” she said.
“For the first time, we’re creating volunteering opportunities for our members through community assistance projects and partnerships.
“And if you’re part of a community group looking to amplify your work, we’d love to explore how we can work together.”
