On 1 September 2025, RACQ finalised the transition of RACQ Insurance to IAG, marking the start of a landmark 25-year strategic partnership.

The partnership is a positive step forward for Queenslanders, combining RACQ’s trusted legacy with the benefits which come from IAG’s scale, innovation, and diversification. It also brings together two organisations deeply aligned to building more resilient communities and supporting accessible insurance.

What is changing?

RACQ and IAG share a strong commitment to building a safer, more resilient Queensland, and supporting accessible insurance. Together, the two organisations will grow RACQ Insurance, offering members quality insurance products and enhanced digital experiences.

Under the new partnership, RACQ will continue supporting insurance policy holders through its locally based stores and contact centres, and RACQ Insurance employees, who transitioned to IAG, remain at RACQ’s Eight Mile Plains head office. IAG will manage claims, products and pricing.

    What does it mean for RACQ Insurance policy holders?

    For existing RACQ Insurance policy holders, your policy remains unchanged, and your claims will continue to be managed with care. RACQ Insurance policy holders will continue to have access to all the benefits associated with being an RACQ member.

    RACQ and IAG are committed to ensuring that your personal information is protected. Changes have been made to RACQ’s Privacy Policy and Insurance Privacy Collection Notice to explain the way in which we now handle your personal information.

    This Notice lets you know how RACQ Insurance Limited (owned by IAG Limited) collects, holds, uses and discloses personal information about current and previous RACQ Insurance policy holders. Please note, if your RACQ Insurance policy has lapsed, your personal information will still be securely shared with IAG as part of this transition.

    What does this mean for all RACQ members?

    RACQ’s strategic partnership with IAG only relates to the Club’s Insurance business. This transaction does not directly impact RACQ’s other businesses, including Roadside Assistance, RACQ Bank, RACQ Solar and joint venture travel arrangement with Members Travel Group (MTG).

    The partnership will allow RACQ to accelerate its 2032 strategy which focuses on developing new products and services to help members with their home and mobility needs. It will also strengthen the Club’s ability to advocate for, and assist members across the State, while scaling the work it does within communities.

This partnership only relates to RACQ’s Insurance business. All other businesses, including Roadside Assistance, RACQ Bank, RACQ Solar and joint venture travel arrangement with Members Travel Group (MTG) are not directly impacted by this partnership.
