Crash causes huge delays

RACQ has urged drivers to allow extra time after a crash on the Gateway Motorway at Carindale caused massive delays to the morning commute.

The crash happened near the Old Cleveland Road exit just before 6am on Tuesday and caused congestion in the northbound lanes back to Stretton.

RACQ’s spokesperson Clare Hunter said drivers should avoid the area.

“If you can steer clear of the Gateway Motorway altogether you won’t get stuck in the traffic, but if you do, remember to pack your patience,” Ms Hunter said.

“We’re also seeing huge delays on the M1 with traffic banked up as far as Shailer Park.

“Check RACQ Road Conditions before you set off and plan your journey. It may even pay to stagger your departure time.”
