Ms Murphy has been serving on the board since 2018 and had been Vice-President and Deputy Chair since 2020. She was also Chair of the Risk and Compliance Committees of the boards for the Group and a member of the Group Strategic Capital Committee.

She brings more than 25 years of experience in insurance and financial services, having worked in several roles in top 20 ASX listed companies.

Ms Murphy also sits on a number of other boards and has been co-chair of the United Nations Environmental Programmes Principles for Sustainable Insurance initiative and was recognised as one of Australia’s Top 100 Women of Influence.

“I am honoured and privileged to have been elected President and Chair of this wonderful Club. I am committed to serving our members as we move toward our 2030 vision to be the trusted partner for our members, providing solutions to live and move safely, securely and sustainably,” she said.

“There is much work to do, and I am excited to be working with my fellow board members and Group CEO David Carter as we begin our multi-year transformation to become a better, stronger, future-focused member-centric organisation.

“I would like to thank Elizabeth for her guidance over what has been a difficult and challenging year for RACQ.

“For many years Elizabeth has been dedicated to tirelessly serving our members. Her unwavering dedication, focus and stewardship will be missed by myself and fellow board members.”

Ms Jameson said she had been honoured to serve the almost 1.7 million members of RACQ for the past 14 years as a director on the board and for the past two years as President and Chair.

“Over that time much board renewal has occurred. The refreshed board is now working together like a well-oiled machine - cohesively, energetically and with great care – with at least two years of systems and process transformation work ahead,” she said.

“Given my tenure as President and Chair only permits me to serve in this role for up to one more year, I believe now is the right time to hand over the reins. This will leave the path clear for the new President and Chair to guide it through the multi-year transformation that has just begun.

“Importantly, the role of President will no longer be subject to the three-year limit, which our members voted to remove at last year’s AGM.

“Over my time I have seen the Club grow and evolve. And despite the many catastrophic weather and other events we have experienced and responded to, I am immensely proud of RACQ’s relentless commitment to be there for our members and communities when it matters most.

“I wish Leona and the board all the best as the Club begins its transformative journey and I would also like to thank David, our executive team and staff for their hard work and commitment.

“Finally, I would like to thank our members for their support, patience and understanding, and wish them all the warmest ‘yellow truck feeling’ for a very bright RACQ future,” Ms Jameson said.
