How to get to RACQ MotorFest
News
Motoring enthusiasts heading to RACQ MotorFest this Sunday have been urged to plan their trip ahead of time with this year’s event held at a new location.
Club spokesperson Clare Hunter said after the 2020 event was cancelled due to COVID-19, the annual celebration of all things automotive would return on 13 June, at the Brisbane Showgrounds.
“We’re so pleased to bring back this event which is loved by car enthusiasts and families alike,” Ms Hunter said.
“One of the best ways to get to the new venue is by public transport, with Bowen Hills and Fortitude Valley train stations less than a 10-minute walk from the showgrounds.
“Buses also travel to the Brisbane Showgrounds regularly, with the main bus stops located on Bowen Bridge Road outside The Old Museum and on St Pauls Terrace near King Street. For more information check Translink’s Journey Planner or phone 13 12 30.”
Ms Hunter said for those who planned to drive, there were three paid undercover parking facilities with rates starting from $15 for the day located on Gregory Terrace, O'Connell Terrace and King Street.
“Make sure you check the latest road conditions and traffic updates before leaving home, and for more information on parking, including rates, visit the Brisbane Showgrounds website,” she said.
“If electric scooter is your transport mode of choice attendees can use the promotion code "RACQ5" to get a free ride with Neuron, up to the value of $5, to get to or from the Brisbane Showgrounds. Lime scooter will also be offering special deals to existing customers who’ve downloaded the Lime app.”
