Drivers warned of road closures

RACQ is reminding motorists and public transport users of road closures in the CBD and surrounds this Sunday 5 June for the Brisbane Marathon Festival.

RACQ spokesperson Nicky Haydon said several roads around the city centre would be impacted.

“Road closures will take place from about 3am on Sunday morning and include the Story Bridge, roads in the Brisbane city centre, Kangaroo Point cliffs and areas surrounding New Farm Park,” Ms Haydon said.

“Several bus routes will also be impacted by the road closures.”

Ms Haydon said the marathon would also impact parking in and around the CBD.

“With more than 8,000 runners expected to compete, parking near the City Botanic Gardens race hub will be at a premium on race day.

“We’re urging all road users to plan ahead by using RACQ’s Road Conditions website and allow extra travel time.”

A full list of street closure times can be found on the Brisbane Marathon website.
