As the Royal Automobile Club of Queensland we offer our heartfelt condolences to the Royal Family on the passing of Her Majesty The Queen.
RACQ President Elizabeth Jameson said the Club and its over 1.7 million members joined people around the world in mourning Queen Elizabeth II.
“RACQ has had the privilege and honour of serving Queenslanders under the Royal banner throughout her Majesty’s 70-year reign,” Ms Jameson said.
“We have carried our Royal prefix with great pride since 1921 when, in recognition of the Club's patriotic efforts during the Great War, His Majesty King George V approved its use.
“I also reflect on the memories our organisation has shared with Her Majesty, including the first of many Royal visits to Australia in 1954, where RACQ’s Head Office in Queen Street and its building in Toowoomba were decorated to welcome Her Majesty and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
“We will forever be inspired by Her Majesty’s tireless service and dedication to her people.”
