Take our Young Drivers Survey for the chance to win a $250 gift card

Do you name your car? What’s the trickiest road rule to remember? And what do you really think about your parents’ driving skills?

These are just some of the topics we’d love to explore with young drivers in RACQ’s 2024 Young Drivers Survey.

The survey enables RACQ to gather essential insights and data about young drivers' attitudes, behaviours, and experiences on the road – with some quirky questions thrown in too.

Queenslanders aged between 16 and 24 are polled on various mobility issues and can win one of two $250 EFTPOS gift cards.

The Club’s Road Safety and Technical Manager Joel Tucker said information gathered from the survey helped RACQ advocate on behalf of young drivers.

“This is a great opportunity for young drivers to have their say about a range of topics, from their experiences as learner drivers and their views on the licensing process to information on the cars they are driving,’” Dr Kane said.

“The survey, which keeps the identity of respondents anonymous, also gives us valuable insights into the learning and driving experiences, as well as the behaviours of young drivers when behind the wheel.

“This information can play a vital role in helping us formulate our road safety messaging and policy related to licensing and driver education for this demographic, which is one of the most at-risk on our roads.”

In 2023, 27% of all fatalities on Queensland roads were from crashes which involved drivers or riders aged 16 to 24.
