Laidley Spring Festival promises spring blooms and retro vibes
The 2025 Laidley Spring Festival will be a celebration of colour, community and nostalgia.

Just a short drive west of Brisbane, the Lockyer Valley is the kind of place that makes you want to pack the car, roll the windows down, and let the countryside set the pace.
As Queensland’s very own ‘salad bowl,’ this patchwork of rolling hills, fertile farmland and big blue skies is bursting with fresh air and warm welcomes.
It’s a region where scenic drives meet genuine country spirit, and every stop supports passionate locals growing, making and sharing the best of the season.
From 12-14 September, the streets of Laidley will burst into bloom for the annual Laidley Spring Festival – a three-day celebration of colour, community and a good dash of retro charm.
What can I expect at the Laidley Spring Festival?
There’s something about spring in the valley that brings everything to life, and this year’s Retro Revival theme promises a nostalgic twist on a well-loved tradition.
Kick things off on the Friday night at the Laidley Rec Reserve from 5pm to 9pm. Picture live music from local musos drifting into the evening air, twinkling festoon lights over buzzing market stalls, mouth-watering street food, and that laid-back country night vibe that’s made for picnic rugs and catching up with mates under the stars.
Saturday morning will hum to life with the scent of coffee and fresh flowers as the town comes alive.
At 10am, the Street Parade will wind its way through town, turning heads with vintage cars, colourful floats, brass bands, and that unbeatable community pride.
The fun keeps flowing with family entertainment from Elmo and Cookie Monster, and the high-energy sounds of Gee’d Up.

Car lovers can take a stroll among the gleaming classics at the Show ‘n’ Shine, while foodies flock to the cooking stage to watch celebrity chef Matt Golinski whip up seasonal dishes with local produce.
It’s a feast for the senses, with the Spring Gardening Fair, Quilt & Craft Expo, Orchid and Gem Shows, Open Gardens and more adding layers of creativity and colour.
On the Sunday, road trippers should steer toward Forest Hill for Bee Happy Day – a sweet morning of family fun at the School of Arts Hall from 8.30am to 12pm.
It’s a buzzing morning of themed arts and crafts, circus workshops, bubble discos, balloon twisting, face painting, live music, food stalls, and a sweet artisan market.
How much is the entry fee?
Most of the festival fun is completely free, with a few community-led events asking for a gold coin or small entry to support the locals who make it all happen.
There’s free parking, a handy park and ride shuttle, pet-friendly vibes (on lead, of course), and accessible spaces right across the festival precinct—making it easy to soak it all in at your own pace.
What are the accommodation options?
When it’s time to hit pause, the Lockyer Valley has a stay to match every traveller.
Snuggle into a charming country motel, kick back in a quirky cabin or glamping tent with dreamy views, or roll into a free rest area if you’re travelling on a budget.
Families will love campgrounds packed with all the creature comforts, and if luxury is calling, boutique stays with a splash of indulgence are just a scenic drive away.
No matter where you lay your head, you’ll be met with genuine country hospitality and a warm Lockyer Valley welcome.
