Taking a hike into Queensland
New tourism business to showcase state’s environmental wonders.
Award-winning tour operator The Hike Collective has expanded into Queensland.
The Hike Collective was launched in Perth in 2016 when founder Kate Gibson began a mental health awareness initiative providing free hikes each month to locals who had a love of nature and adventure.
Six years later the business has taken its first step to expand, launching into Queensland.
“I’m incredibly proud of what the business has achieved so far and this next step marks an exciting new chapter for The Hike Collective,” Ms Gibson said
“Our goal is to unite a diverse hiking community from around the world and there are so many captivating trails throughout Queensland that provide the perfect space to immerse yourself and discover the power of movement, connection and nature.”
The Hike Collective Queensland offers hikes within one hour of Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast.
Its goal is to provide a safe space to explore the rugged beauty of Australia's natural environment and empower experiential discovery through unique and inclusive trail experiences.
The hikes are designed to make adventures accessible to international, domestic and local visitors, regardless of their outdoor experience.
"The Hike Collective believes that education is important for increasing awareness about the environment and the role ecotourism can play in achieving sustainability,” Ms Gibson said.
“With over 1,000 national parks and forests spanning 170,000sq.km in Queensland, we are committed to educating guests on the importance of making a minimal impact on the environment during our hikes."
