How to make your boat, caravan, or trailer claim

Are you experiencing an emergency or is someone hurt? Call 000 first.
If your boat has been involved in an accident on the water you should file a Marine Incident Report with Maritime Safety Queensland within 48 hours.

Check your insurance policy
To see what you’ll be able to claim, please read through the following policy documents:
- Certificate of Insurance for your policy (you’ll find this on My RACQ or policy documents)
- Product Disclosure Statement (PDS), and any applicable Supplementary PDS

Gather your documents
It helps to have the following information ready when you call:
- Your RACQ policy number (you’ll find this in My RACQ or on your policy documents)
- Your boat, caravan or trailer's registration number, make, and model
- Registration numbers and details of any other person, vehicle, or craft involved
- The date and details of the incident
- A Police Report Number (if applicable)
- The driver licence number, expiry, type, and class of any drivers involved
- Residential address of you and anyone else involved in the incident
- Contact details of any witnesses or other people involved
- Details of any towing company used
- Your paid invoices or quotes you’ve obtained
