Why we’ve made changes to our excess structure

As a member-based organisation, RACQ always seek to offer the best value to our members. We’re doing everything possible to minimise premium increases, while ensuring the Club continues to be financially strong to serve you.

Please check your policy documents to see your excess amounts, as the following excesses may be different when you renew your policy:

We've changed some of our excess levels. These are:

  • Listed driver age excess
  • Unlisted driver age excess
  • Inexperienced driver excess
  • Increases to some of our basic excess levels

We value your loyalty and know that any changes we make to your insurance may impact you. That’s why we’ve carefully considered these updates to your policy, which help us support you now and in the future.

Who do these changes impact?

Basic excess level changes may impact RACQ Motor Comprehensive Insurance members who’s policy is due for renewal from the 19th December 2022 to 18th December 2023.

Listed and unlisted driver age excess and inexperienced driver excess changes will impact RACQ Motor Comprehensive, Motor Third Party Liability and Motor Fire, Theft & Liability policies effective or renewed from 21st August 2023.

These changes are relevant for both personal and business use motor vehicles (excluding unlisted driver age excess for fleet).
