Liz Savage will also join the board in September to fill the casual vacancy that will be created by Rob Hubbard’s retirement. She will stand for election as a South East Queensland director at October’s AGM.
RACQ President and Chair Leona Murphy said the contribution made by John, Rob and Duncan was long lasting and invaluable.
“Since 2016, John has supported the organisation through a period of significant change, and his counsel on the board, including as chair of the Bank board for 2 years, has been invaluable as the Club navigated the opportunities and headwinds of the past few years,” Ms Murphy said.
“Rob has been a board director representing South East Queensland since 2021 and chair of the Audit Committee. Rob’s contribution has been extremely valuable and the Club has benefited from his decades of business and board experience.
“First joining the board in 2021, Duncan’s deep insurance expertise has been of particular support to RACQ and more recently he played a vital role in the IAG transaction to help set up our Club for future success.
“On behalf of the board and RACQ team, I want to thank John, Rob and Duncan and wish them well in the future. They have been exemplary directors and tireless and committed advocates for our organisation.”
Ms Murphy said she is excited by the expertise and experience of Mark, Richard and Liz, and the insights they will bring to support the Club’s 2032 strategy.
“Mark, Richard and Liz are highly credentialled and each bring their own much-valued skills and experience aligned to our Club’s business priorities,” Ms Murphy said.
“Mark has worked in the in the automotive industry in Australia, China and the US for more than three decades, serving at board-level in Australia and China.
“He was President, CFO and VP of Strategy for various affiliates of the Ford Motor Company in those countries, including as executive chair and president of Ford’s electric vehicle company in China.
“His skills and expertise will be crucial as we help our members with their mobility needs now and into the future.
“Richard has more than 25 years’ experience in consumer-facing organisations and brings significant digital transformation expertise as we look to enhance our digital offerings across the organisation.
“He is also an experienced CEO and board member in the retail, e-commerce, healthcare and logistics sectors.
“With a particular focus on customer, member and loyalty programs and strategic partnerships, Liz’s expertise will be invaluable as we continue to build our Member Benefits Program and help ease cost-of-living concerns for our members.
“She is an experienced non-executive director in ASX-listed, private, local government and not-for-profit entities in travel, tourism, hospitality, workforce and sport.”
RACQ members will have the opportunity to meet the new directors at RACQ’s 2025 AGM on Tuesday, 21 October.
