Have your say on Queensland’s election priorities

RACQ members are being given the chance to help shape this year’s State election campaign.

Queensland’s largest club is conducting a poll for members to vote on their election priorities from a shortlist of 10 issues identified by RACQ.

RACQ General Manager Advocacy Joshua Cooney said the poll results would determine the three priorities the Club would focus on in the leadup to election day on 26 October.

“This is a great chance for members to nominate the areas they think we should prioritise when seeking commitments from all sides of politics ahead of the election,” Mr Cooney said.

“The 10 priorities we have shortlisted are wide-ranging, from reining in extreme drivers to ditching the double whammy of taxes on home insurance as well as familiar issues such as fairer fuel pricing and tackling traffic congestion.

“We see addressing these 10 issues as crucial to building a safer, stronger, and more resilient Queensland for future generations.

“However, we want to narrow the focus to the three priorities as voted by our members.

“We will then go to all sides of politics, seeking commitments to address these important issues.”

Mr Cooney said with more than 1.7 million members, RACQ represented a large portion of the State’s population and their opinions deserved to be heard.

“RACQ is committed to driving a positive future for all Queensland and this initiative gives members the chance to have their say on what issues matter most to them as we strive to achieve that vision,” he said.
