Queensland groups urged to apply for sponsorship
RACQ has called on Queensland community groups to apply for local sponsorship grants to help fund activities which would benefit people across the State.
The latest round of RACQ Local Sponsorship applications opened Monday and encouraged organisations, businesses, clubs, associations and charities to apply for funding of up to $3,000 for one-off sponsorship initiatives.
RACQ’s Kirsty Clinton said proposed sponsorships should align with RACQ’s motoring heritage, Queensland history, community focus or education.
“We’re looking to support one-off local initiatives which are meaningful to communities across the State,” Ms Clinton said.
“We want to support local activities which can make a big difference to many Queenslanders.”
Ms Clinton said previous sponsorship recipients included the Winter Short Course Swimming Carnival at Emu Park, Jabiru Community Youth and Children’s Services ‘Sports Zone’ at the Zillmere Festival, Outback Barrel Horse Circuits Summer Series and The Rotary Club of Carindale’s Billycart Championship.
“As a mutual organisation we operate to benefit our members and their communities and are proud that our profits can be used to help fund initiatives like these rather than dividends for shareholders,” she said.
The latest intake of applications opened Monday 1 October and would close on 15 November. Application forms and additional information could be found on the RACQ website.
