2018 RACQ Pet Search winner announced

Bailey the Groodle was crowned king after he received the highest number of votes, of eligible finalists, for a video entry from his owner Amy Burford of his hilarious attempts at catching toys unsuccessfully.

RACQ spokesperson Kirsty Clinton said Bailey was a very deserving winner, but it was bittersweet because Amy had recently announced she was now mourning the 10 year old’s passing.

“Bailey’s a beautiful dog and was a hit with our judges when we were deciding on the 12 finalists. We’re proud to have him represent us on the front cover of our calendar which will be available in stores later this year to raise money for the Animal Welfare League of Queensland (AWLQ),” Ms Clinton said.

“We were, however, very sad to hear that the gorgeous Bailey passed away over the weekend. We send our thoughts to Amy, his owner, and hope this win will be a nice way for her to celebrate and remember him.”
