Get in fast to fill up for 89 cents per litre
RACQ has encouraged motorists in Ipswich to take advantage of the cheapest fuel in the State, with the BP Foodworks at Tivoli selling unleaded petrol (ULP) for 89.9 cents per litre (cpl) for a limited time.
RACQ spokesperson Renee Smith said it was great to see the retailer offering such a low price, even if it was for a short time.
“Times are tough and this is just the news motorists need at the moment,” Ms Smith said.
“The most common price in Ipswich at the moment is 120.9cpl and the most expensive site is charging 129.9cpl.
“Prices are dropping but if you need to fill up now, please support the retailers who are offering cheaper prices to get the best deal.
Ms Smith said prices were also dropping in Brisbane but not as quickly as the Club would like, considering the falls in the price of global oil and the wholesale price.
“At the moment prices are too high and savings need to be passed on to motorists to deliver some relief during this health crisis,” she said.
“The latest average for Brisbane is 120.9cpl, but a cheap price should be considered as 97cpl for both Ipswich and Brisbane.
“We hope the price of ULP will drop down to 100cpl in the next couple of weeks, but the market is behaving very unpredictably.
“There are some savings being passed on to motorists across the south east, four sites on the Gold Coast and three in Toowoomba are selling ULP for below 100cpl.
“The Costco at North Lakes and Bundamba, Ipswich are also offering E10 for 88.7cpl, however you do need to be a member to take advantage of this deal.”—
